Mexico City, Mexico - March 2015. Representatives from several Taiwanese machine tool manufacturing companies presented their innovations in the “Encuentro de Máquinas Herramienta y Automatización de Taiwán”, on TECMA 2015 held at Expo Bancomer Santa Fe, Mexico City.
The conference was aimed especially for players in the automotive and aerospace industries in Mexico, which have given a significant boost to the metalworking industry. Reception was hosted by Ken KH Lin, director of Taiwan Trade Center in Mexico; Victor M. H. Lee, director of Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei in Mexico, and David Luna Arellano, editorial in chief at Metalmecanica Magazine, who presented an overview of to the machine tool industry in Taiwan.
"The machine tool cluster in Taiwan, known as the Golden Valley, located in an area of 60 x 14 km, has a great vertical integration. This geographical and business proximity has allowed them to increase the quality of their equipment", said David Luna.
Meanwhile, Victor Lee said that almost 80% of Taiwanese machines were exported last year to more than 138 markets worldwide, which has consolidated Taiwan as the fourth largest exporter of machine tools. In addition, the official explained that "Taiwan has semiconductor and automotive panel manufacturers, increasing their competitiveness on advanced tool machines".
Attendees also witnessed testimonies from representatives of several Taiwanese companies as Shie YHI, Starvision and Delta Electronics. Also present represetantes National Autoparts Industry of Mexico, industry manufacturers particular interest, since 70% of the machine tools produced in Taiwan have specific applications for the automotive sector.
Representatives of Taiwan concluded, before more than fifty attendees, that there is a enormous interest in Mexico and, in the near future, companies will increase their investment and presence in mexican ground.
