[Taiwan News] Machine tool makers form group to outpace competitors

During the last two decades, many customers of Taiwanese machine tool producers were lured by competitors from the emerging markets. Those competitors offered lower prices and quicker service, which caused certain casualties to Taiwanese firms. Recently, several outstanding Taiwanese manufacturers grouped together and named themselves M-Team to face the competition.

The M-Team includes YCM, Quaser Machine Tools, Victor Taichung Machinery Works, Tongtai Machine & Tool, and many others. They believe in using teamwork and the accompanying synergistic advantages to face the harsh global circumstances. During the last fifteen years, some of the leading manufacturers in Taiwan acted fervently in promoting their quality and shortening their delivery date so that international buyers would feel confidant about the Taiwanese industry when they were looking for facilities for higher precision.

The spokesman of M-Team shared that many of them used to be opportunistic in running the oversea market but now with the M-Team platform, corporations from the entire supply chain can now group, integrate and work together. The M-Team has five core axes and has held many internal training programs for its members, including QC solution, 5S knowledge, and production programs. Professional consultants conducted these programs and members also participated in other different industrial fields in order to study a full spectrum of industry.
