[Taiwan News] The Top Ten Taiwanese Brands Double In Value

Recently, the Taiwanese Bureau of Foreign Trade and TAITRA jointly held a press conference on the domestic brands development project. Government officials pointed out that at the debut of this project in 2003 the total value of top ten Taiwanese brands was 3.564 billion USD. In 2012 the value is 10.84 billion. The value grew by more than 200%.

Among the top ten, Want Want, 85 Bakery Café, and HTC Corporation are new faces on the list within the decade. Ten years ago, VIA, a company established by Cher Wang, was on the top ten list.   But VIA was no longer on the list. Instead, HTC, another company established by Cher Wang, is now on the list.  Though the company value went down to 2.735 billion USD recently, it is still on the top of the list.

Besides HTC, there are Asus, Trend Micro, Acer, and Tingyi (Cayman Islands) Holding Corporation. In regard to the growth of company, Tingyi (Cayman Islands) Holding Corporation is the most successful company.  It managed to grow almost four times bigger than before.  In second place is Acer, who grew by more than three times than before. Asus’s growth is more than two times and Lemel almost two times. 
        
This brand development project is an official plan to develop and train talents of Taiwanese companies. It incorporates the True Brand theory from the USA to help companies in their leadership, analysis and decision-making skills. Ultimately, this project aims to elevate the branding of Taiwanese companies in the global market.
