(Taiwan) Scrap imports fall by 7% -y-o-y in 2012

According to data, Taiwan imported 4.954 million tons of scraps in 2012, down by 7% from a year ago.
In 2012, the US was the largest scrap exporter to Taiwan with 3.127 million tons, falling by 3.8% year on year.
In 2007, Taiwan’s scrap imports exceeded 5 million tons to reach 5.42 million tons. Moreover, the scrap imports increased to 5.54 million tons. However, the scrap imports slumped to 3.92 million tons in 2009, affected by global economic crisis.
