JAPAN-Taiwan External Trade Development Council and Taiwan Association together brought 64 exhibitors at IPF Japan 2014, the second largest exhibition group in this event. These Taiwanese companies presented their latest technology related to the plastic and rubber industry.
Taiwanese products are gaining more popularity in the Japanese market in recent years. Take Multiplas Enginery (a Taiwan company producing Hybrid Injection Molding Machines) for example, 40% of its products are sold to Japan or Japanese companies’ oversea branches.
David Wu, Chairman of the Plastic and Rubber Machinery Committee of Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry gave two reasons which contribute to Taiwanese plastic and rubber products’ prosperity in Japanese market, “Firstly, our quality is becoming even better. Though currently it may not be at the same level with Japanese products, we can provide products at favourable prices. Secondly, Taiwan companies are more flexible in certain areas, like customisation, special dedicated machines.”
David Wu stressed that they not only export to Japan, but also target Japanese oversea markets, like the dynamic Southeast Asia market in recent years. The Taiwanese exhibitors at IPF Japan 2014 highlighted their automation technologies, which gained tremendous interest from visitors.
