The Teijin Group announced that Toho Tenax Co., Ltd., the group's carbon fibers and composites business, and Shanghai-based Teijin Aramid Asia Co., Ltd., the group's aramid fibers business, is slated to exhibit at China Composites Expo 2015 in Shanghai from September 2 to 4. Teijin joins some 450 exhibitors in this annual show.
The Teijin booth (stand 808) will present the company's innovative applications for carbon- and aramid-fiber-reinforced composites. In particulr, Toho Tenax will showcase the value of TENAX carbon fiber materials’ superior strength and lightweight properties for the Chinese market. A number of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) products based on different technologies will be shown, highlighting applications in industrial machinery and robotics, both areas where demand is expected to increase. TENAX TPCL, a thermoplastic consolidated laminate being used in Airbus’s extra-wide-body midsize jetliner the A350 XWB, will also be exhibited.

Teijin Aramid Asia will present two filament yarns, Twaron Black and Technora Black, both deep-black versions of high-modulus para-aramid fibers that were originally available only in yellow. The original yellow versions will be on display as well. The fibers are highly suited to applications requiring stiffness, strength, lightness and beauty, such as boat hulls and sails, motorcycle helmets, and other sporting goods. Other aramid composite applications on display will include pressure vessels, circuit breaker rods and various others for use in civil engineering.
The Teijin Group combines high-strength, high-modulus carbon fibers and aramid fibers with resin to produce various composite materials for use in lightweight products for safety and protective solutions. Such materials enable energy-saving and eco-minded solutions, making them increasingly in demand in China, one of the Teijin Group’s key growth markets.
