Tenneco expands OEM business with India plant

U.S. automotive parts supplier Tenneco Inc. will construct its seventh plant in India in a bid to build its growing OEM division in emerging markets. The Chennai facility will supply emission control products to carmakers in the area, as the country becomes more of an export hub with strict emission standards in a number of countries and regions to adhere to. The new US$5-million-plant takes Tenneco's investment in the country to US$20 million over the last three years. The company already produces emission control products in Halol and Pune, mostly supplying producers of small cars. It is a business model, which has been working well in EMs and the BRIC states in particular, underlining its view that suppliers with EM exposure will benefit from a growing focus on local content.Air Jordan 1
