Tetra Pak factories honoured by Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance

Tetra Pak has received nine awards for manufacturing excellence from the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) at its annual awards ceremony held on 12 March in Kyoto. Tetra Pak's packaging material plant in Foshan, China was recognised with a TPM Special Award for outstanding lead-time reduction and delivery of consistent quality packaging material and service to customers. The company's factories in Berlin, Germany; Beijing, China and Lahore; Pakistan received the 2009 Award for Excellence in Consistent TPM Commitment. A Sealing and Creasing unit in Lund, Sweden and the company's plants, in Arganda del Rey, Spain; Budaors, Hungary; Gotemba, Japan and Taipei, Taiwan were also awarded with 2009 TPM Excellence Award. Since they began in 1964, the JPIM Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) awards have become among the most prestigious in the manufacturing industry.
