Chr. Hansen is proud to have three of its new ingredient solutions as amongst the finalists for the Fi Europe Excellence Awards.
Launched in March 2013, SaltLite? is a salt-reducing natural solution for cheeses. It consists of bacterial cultures and enzymes to counteract the negative effects of salt reduction in cheese. It enables the production of low-sodium cheese without altering the much of the original taste and texture. In contrast to other technologies, SaltLite uses ingredients already used in cheese processing. Another product for dairy, the FreshQ? consists of protective cultures that counteract yeast and mould in fresh dairy products.
Both are nominees in the category, Dairy Innovation of the Year.
The SafePro Imporous? consists of new meat cultures which improve quality in cooked whole muscle products. It is a nominee for the Savoury/Meat Innovation of the Year category.
The Fi Europe Excellence Awards 2013 recognises professionals and companies for their ability to demonstrate and stimulate innovation and for their contribution to the food and beverage industry.The winners will be announced on 19 November 2013, during the FiE Excellence Awards ceremony, taking place at 18h00.
