Auto supplier TI Automotive is building two new plants in India to make fuel system parts for the domestic auto market. TI, based in Auburn Hills, Mich., will build a blow moulding facility to make low-emission multi-layer tanks in Chennai and an extruded fuel line facility in Bangalore. The Bangalore plant will begin full production by December with production in Chennai by April. TI recognises that India is a key growth region that is essential to being a major global supplier. The 73,000-sq.ft. Chennai plant will employ 70 people and 68 people will work at the 12,500-square-foot site in Bangalore. TI already has a powertrain systems plant in Manesar and two other fluid carrying system sites in Baroda and Manesar.
