This year the venue joins a record of 1,009 direct exhibitors who are using a record of 100,000 square-meters of exhibition space. Much of the interest this year has been inspired by TAITRA’s 57 foreign trade offices, which invited 4,430 leading buyers from around the world. This is an amazing 18.6% growth on its last edition in 2011. Total visitor count reached a record breaking of 5,744 (36.6%) for International and 21,276 (27.7%) for Local.
Among the visitors are 10 buyer groups from Japan, Turkey, Malaysia, Thailand and China. Buyers from India, Russia, Italy and the U.S. are also present at the show. For many the climax of the show was the 1-on-1 procurement meetings and industry seminars. More than 30 seminars will be held during the show where specialists share the latest insiders on the industry.
Meanwhile, the "Taiwan Machine Tool Industry Awards for Excellence in Research and Innovation" has offered well deserved recognition to the best of 58 exhibitors in the final rounds of the contest with 62 products. Another must-see at TIMTOS was the "Heritage & Evolution" vintage machine exhibition at the NANGANG Exhibition Hall (L0118). This area brings together cherished old machines from the 60's to 80's to help trace the evolution of machine tools in Taiwan.
