TIMTOS: FEMCO holds few surprises

Although having been in the market for many decades, the company still keeps a young heart and is always preparing for new technology. Manager Yen said that this time they have come prepared for the show.

After the economic crisis in the EU, FEMCO, aiming at high-end markets, had adjusted their focus and shifted their aim to places like Mainland China, India, and Thailand for further expansions. In Mainland China, FEMCO is using agents. The company used to focus on the Zhejiang region. With the development of the Chinese industry, the focus now is on expanding to Wuhan and Hunan so that the business could reach to second tier big cities.

To mitigate the rise of labour cost in Mainland China, FEMCO expanded their offices, training centres, and warehouses in India and Thailand. In Malaysia, there is a service centre. With expanded operations in these three countries, FEMCO hopes to support customers in Southeast Asia.

New markets

FEMCO is promoting their NVL-12 CNC vertical lathe and BMC-250T high speed spindle boring and milling machine in the exhibition. The former is heavy loaded for multi tasks; maximum turning height is 1,300 mm and the maximum table loading is 8,000 kg. It adopts a 37/45 kw spindle motor, so the maximum table rotating speed can reach 400 rpm and the x-axis rapid traverse rate is 20,000/min, and the z-axis rapid traverse rate is 20.000mm/min. The spindle rotating speed is excellent, as it is up to 40-3,000 mm. Cross-rail moving speed is 480 mm/min and the spindle motor power is 15/18.5 kw. These advantages make the product very competitive in the market.

There is also the BMC-250T high speed spindle boring and milling machine. The product is designed for deep slot die and mould processing since the spindle is equipped with ZF transmission. The product is also suitable for low speed and high torque machining. The ram diameter is 250 mm, making it the smallest size and has the least interference when compared to other milling heads of the same level. The automatic head changer clamped the milling head with inner power motor. Since the C axis functions with 30° milling head, processing can be adjusted to the optimal angles.
