The signing of a memorandum of understanding between Machine Tools Industrialists and the Businessmen Association of Turkey (TIAD) President Dr. Erdal Gamsiz and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA)’s Executive Vice President Mr. Peter Hyang creates even closer ties between those in the exhibition industry and machine tools industry.

Yesterday marks the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Machine Tools Industrialists and the Businessmen Association of Turkey (TIAD) President Dr. Erdal Gamsiz and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA)’s Executive Vice President Mr. Peter Hyang. The agreement creates even closer ties between those in the exhibition industry and machine tools industry.

The signing of agreement was followed by an exchange of gifts between Mr. Hyang and Dr. Gamsiz. TAITRA EVP gave TIAD president a box of coloured glaze while Dr. Gamsiz handed Mr. Hyang a Turkish traditional plate.

For those in Taiwan’s machine tool industry, Turkey ranks as its top exporting market. Last year, Taiwan industry exports to Turkey reached US$204 million, an increase of 2.1 percent on the previous year.

“It’s an honour to see Taiwan machine tool products of high quality being sold on the Turkish market and around the world,” said TAITRA’s Executive Vice President Mr. Peter Hyang.

He added, “Now it is a great pleasure to formalize this well-established and flourishing relationship. By signing this MOU, I know that ties between our machine tool and machinery industries will be strengthened to enhance bilateral economic relations.”

TIAD is among the main supporters of the biggest and most important machine tools fairs exhibitions and shows in Turkey.  It keeps tabs on international fairs concerning the sector and communicates all the machine tools fairs across the world as a list to its members through bulletins and its website. TIAD provides technical training to machine tools user manufacturing companies. The trainings include: programming CNC machines (CNC turning lathe and CNC machining center), CAD (Computer Aided Design), and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing).

According to Dr. Gamsi, Turkey has a flexible production capacity. They can compete with China in terms of quality and price. Due to the high rate of SME’s (90%) among all enterprises established in Turkey, there is a wide range of products and thus a manufacturing diversity. Exchange rate and supports export. Turkey is also politically stable.

Dr. Gamsi also talked about MAKTEK EURASIA, Machine Tools, Metal Processing Machines, Welding, Cutting, Drilling Technologies, Quality Control and Test Equipment Fair to be organised bianually will be a professional Fair meeting international world standards. He said that In light of its powerful structure, the Fair becomes an indispensable event for all members of the sector. Highlighting comprehensive and effective domestic and overseas promotion activities.
