TIMTOS wraps up Taiwan's best & largest machining show

The six-day TIMTOS 2013 at the Exhibition Hall 1, 2, 3 of Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) and the NANGANG Exhibition Center wrapped up March 10 as the sector’s largest trade show in Taiwan’s history.

This event created show history by once again forging fresh records. It hosted 1,009 exhibitors from home and abroad to use 5,372 booths. They attracted 6,583 visitor buyers from 94 countries, a 29.8% increase on the last turnout. The number of domestic visitors also rose 12.4%, to 4,0189. 

TIMTOS (The Taipei International Machine Tool Show) is jointly organised by the TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) and TAMI (the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry.  

Global procurement hub for machinery!

The top 10 buying countries by purchase order volume ranked as PR China, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Thailand, India, the USA, Turkey, Singapore and Indonesia.

More than three out of ten buyers at the show had travelled from abroad. Buyer-nation, by attendance, was the PR China, India, Turkey, Russia, Indonesia and Vietnam – the very market targets listed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs for its 2013 marketing campaigns.

The above underscores the vital role of TIMTOS as a key sourcing hub for top buyers and as an important channel through which newly industrialised countries can place orders.
