The Taichung city government has contributed a special budget for TMTS in order for them to invite more international buyers to source machine tool equipment and accessories. Besides attending the exhibition, international buyers and guests are encouraged to explore the area.
The TMTS is Taichung’s largest international exhibition. The exhibition scale exceeded 2,400 booths with 36,200 square meters in exhibition area and 448 exhibitors for the second TMTS exhibition. The bi-annual TMTS is not only an important event for Taiwan's machine industry but it is also an important event in Taichung. The Taichung city government has contributed a special budget for TMTS in order for them to invite more international buyers to source machine tool equipment and accessories. Besides attending the exhibition, international buyers and guests are encouraged to explore the area.
About Taichung
Taichung is a pleasant city located in central Taiwan with a population of 2.67 million and 2,215 square kilometer area. Taichung is a city with a moderate population density, rainfall, agreeable weather, and centrally located in Taiwan. This city is suitable for leisure, living, business expansion, and it is most appropriate for low pollution manufacturing of high-precision machine tools.
The Taichung area is the hub in the development of Taiwan's machine tools and precision machine industry. There are about 1,600 companies in the machine tool industry in Taiwan, including machining, assembly, accessories factories, with the Greater Taichung area boasting 90 percent of these. To help strengthen local competitiveness and quality, the Taichung city government is promoting the development of "The Taichung City Precision Machinery Innovation Technology Park". This project will generate 20,000 job opportunities in its 1st and 2nd stages. The investment amount will be about 43.9 billion New Taiwan Dollars and the annual output will reach NT$60 billion.
