Toddler food category holds strong potential for dairy ingredients

DAIRY ingredients including whey are gaining demand in the mainstream food market, and have become a key component in infant formula. But according to Arla Food Ingredients, dairy ingredients are under-used in products for children one to three years of age.

The global toddler food and beverage market was worth US$34 billion in 2015, making it significantly bigger than the $24.7bn infant formula market, according to Euromonitor. Sales of toddler products are forecast to post a compound annual growth rate of 11.4 percent between now and 2018 to reach $47bn, indicating the enormous potential this market offers.
