Low fare specialist Lets Fly Cheaper announces best in flight meals based on passenger survey

When it comes to airline amenities, the passenger’s word is always king. Companies will spend on marketing campaigns, but a passenger’s opinion will always be the strongest. And the quality of in flight meal experience is said to be the holy grail of airline recommendations amongst passengers. A quality meal followed by good service can easily put any airline on top of the heap. World renowned chefs have also gotten into the business of developing signature menus for many airlines.

Although the in flight menu options change frequently to reflect seasonal harvests and availability of the freshest ingredients, each menu is designed to correspond with different regional routes and ultimately reflect the distinct flavours of that region - in addition to accommodate dulled palates 35,000 feet in the air. Regardless of the flight route, first- and business-class diners are certainly in for an incredibly unique in-flight dining experience” says second place Qantas Airlines publicist, Elena Guadino.

The poll conducted by Lets Fly Cheaper asked business travellers which airline they felt provided the best food as well as the best service. Singapore Airlines came in the top spot with respect to providing business class passengers with both, great food and excellent in flight service. “The food is world class as well as the wine, and is served on white linen and china. Also, food can be ordered any time during the flight and champagne is served upon boarding the plane” says frequent business class traveller, Brian Hensinger.

India’s second largest airline, Jet Airways took the third place spot, respectfully. “The food alone is gorgeous and the silver based on the slow food movement whereas food is presented by the staff in the most engaging way” says business traveller, Sheridan Becker.

Rounding out the rest of the list was British Airways in the fourth spot and America’s Delta Airlines at number five.
