LONG ISLAND, New York – AccuVein Inc. has been named a 2013 Gold award winner in the internationally renowned Edison Awards? Competition for its AccuVein AV400.
The AccuVein AV400 vein illumination device helps healthcare professionals locate veins by displaying a map of the patient's vasculature directly on the surface of the skin.
"Our judges recognized the AccuVein AV400 as an important innovation out of the many products in its category," said Frank Bonafilia, executive director of the Edison Awards.
The Edison awards, one of the highest accolades a company can receive in the name of innovation and business success, is a program conducted by the non-profit Edison Universe, which is dedicated to fostering future innovators. The awards are named after Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931) whose inventions, new product development methods and innovative achievements literally changed the world, garnered him 1,093 U.S. patents, and made him a household name.
"We are honored to receive the Gold Edison Award, which embodies AccuVein's ongoing goal to improve patient care by helping to reduce sticks," said AccuVein CEO, Ron Goldman. "Our selection as a Gold Edison Award recipient further validates the AV400 as the vein illumination tool of choice."
Locating peripheral vasculature is invaluable in many medical procedures that require vein access or avoidance. Accessing a vein for IV starts, blood draw and sclerotherapy procedures, as well as avoiding veins in surgery and cosmetic procedures, are all important applications of the device.Nike Jordan Super Fly 5
