China exhibitions, Sino-Pack 2015 and PACKINNO 2015 click with trade visitors looking to find automation and smart designs

TRADE visitors to the China International Exhibition on Packaging Machinery & Materials (Sino-Pack 2015) and the China (Guangzhou) International Exhibition on Packaging Products 2015 (PACKINNO 2015) saw a more extensive range of products and equipment displayed at the Area A of the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou held from March 9 to11. These events, held concurrently with Sino-Label, the exhibition for label printing technology, have become the ideal one-stop-shop for packaging in the mainland.

Joining local exhibitors were companies from India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia and South America.

Organizer Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd estimated show attendance to reach 65,000. It said about 100 buyer groups from various local industries were present at these fairs.

At Sino-Pack 2015, keen interest was on automated packaging as China’s leading companies showcased top-of-the-line machines, including the popular robotic arm, which has come to be the cost-efficient choice for many manufacturers. With labor costs rising in the mainland, more companies in the food & beverage industry are opting to switch to automated and intelligent packaging solutions such as in-line packaging production with automated equipment, as well as stacking machines, carriers, sorters, casing machines, containers, and palletizers and depalletizers.

Sino-Pack

Various product options were available from Shanghai ABB, Fanuc, Kuka, Stäubli, Siasun, GSK, Triowin, Go-Well, Yangsen, Vanta, Texh-Long, Acme, Chelic and SMC Mettler-Toledo, Shida, Schmalz, Arburg, Gurki, Youngsun, Hitachi, Markem-Imaje, Videojet, Nordson, Sinolion, Omori Changkong, Yinghui, Softlink, Sbwpack,Hualian, E-Shrink, Zhongcheng, Songben, Xutian, John Package, Siti, Jinwang, Alphapack, Mingyu, Packmate, Jingye, Winstar and Sunine.

From standalone to complete packaging lines, Sino-Pack 2015 had much to offer buyers from the food & beverage, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics industries. With plastics always a major feature, the event had an array of models for blow molding, in mould labeling, and injection moulding.

For containers, exhibits included machines for producing bags, bottles, rigid boxes, cups and cans, as well as those for capping.

Packaging for today’s needs

Good to look at but most of all cost-friendly, packaging has to meet the needs of today’s consumers. Sustainability is of course a key feature that sets one product from the other.

At PACKINNO 2015, over 120 companies presented packaging for a wide range of products, including those for tea, wine, snacks and other ready to eat foods. According to co-organizers there were 56 original and cultural packaging designs on display.

Buyers were able to evaluate products from Bemis, Mingfeng, TJIP, Acmepak, Xinlehuabao, Shenzhang, Lingxiang, Tenwei, Haoneng, XiongBoShiji, Jianbo, Huaye, Zhiteng, Guoli, BSY Pack, Mitutoyo, Jixiang, AFC Technology, Kaiheng, OK Tea, Changlongxing, Jienuode, Heli, Fuli, Changyuan, Rizone, Dexingcheng, Yuli and TZC Printing.

Knowledge sharing

Both events featured seminars and forums to bring end-users up to speed on developing industry trends in Asia. These include the seminar on Technological Innovation of Beer Industry 2015; symposium on Establishment and Implementation of Food and Medicine Safety Traceability System; CEO Symposium for Packaging Industry and Official Briefing on New Regulations and Guidelines for Bottled Water Packaging.

In addition, the following sessions were organized for trade visitors:
