Competitive vendor landscape
The global air and gas leak detectors market is characterized by the presence of established vendors. In different regions, local and regional vendors dominate the market, thus increasing the competition. Honewell Analytics, Mine Safety Appliances (MSA), Emerson Electric, and Tyco Fire and Integrated Solutions are the major vendors in the market. Honeywell Analytics is the market leader, as it acquired many gas detection companies such as BW Technologies and Zellweger Analytics.
According to Sunil Kumar Singh, a lead analyst at Technavio for computing devices, “All the top players have a large portfolio of industry-related equipment and services, which can be customized according to customers' requirements. These vendors have high capital resources and dedicated R&D funds for developing new technologies. This is a challenge for medium-sized and small vendors with fewer resources.”
