Trexel Inc. sets up branch in Shenzhen, China

Trexel inc. announced the formation of Trexel (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd. This new subsidiary was formed to specifically support Trexel’s operations in the Chinese market with a processing/engineering team, sales support personnel, technical & repair services as well as spare parts logistics. Roger Cheng, previously technical manager of Trexel Hong Kong will become General Manager of Trexel (Shenzhen) Technology Co. Ltd. Trexel’s existing business unit in the region, Trexel Hong Kong, will continue to serve as support hub for Australia and Southeast Asia.  

 As part of the new subsidiary, an additional branch office, including development center, is being established in Shanghai to support domestic and international automotive OEMs and Tier One suppliers. 

According to Steve Braig, President and CEO of Trexel Inc., The interest and the adoption of state of the art processing technologies such as the MuCell process are rapidly gaining in significance, not only with global companies operating inside China but also with Chinese owned companies. The formation of our subsidiary in Shenzhen and the new technical center in Shanghai will provide seamless support for global MuCell automotive programs and will also expand our support efforts for existing and prospective customers in this very important market.” 

Trexel has been active in Southeast Asia & China for close to 10 years,” said Braig “through our subsidiary Trexel Hong Kong Ltd., located in Hong Kong, and we do have a customer base in southern China that focuses mainly on electronics and business machine end user markets. We have supported these installations through Hong Kong and from the U.S.”  However, our Chinese customers have had to deal with Trexel Inc., as we did not have the appropriate business structure to conduct business transactions within China. We have now addressed that issue,“ he said.”  

The MuCell Microcellular Foam technology from Trexel Inc. is a complete process and equipment technology that enables the production of high quality plastic parts with significantly enhanced dimensional stability, lower weight/material and reduced cycle time.  MuCell technology involves the introduction of precisely metered quantities of atmospheric gases (nitrogen or carbon dioxide) in the plasticizing unit of an injection molding machine to create a microcellular material structure in the end product.  The creation of these microcellular structures brings a wide array of benefits including an increased part quality along with reduced production costs.
