TUF Management Associate Program announces first graduates

THE Thai Union Group’s TUF Management Associate Program celebrates its first set of graduates, and looks forward to its next batch.

The Management Associate (MA) team, who underwent extensive training in Thailand, will be posted in Thai Union subsidiaries around the world, including Chicken of the Sea in the US; John West in the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands; Petit Navire and Parmentier in France; Mareblu in Italy; and King Oscar in Norway.

Established in 2012, the TUF Management Associate Program develops young-generation leaders to support the rapid growth of Thai Union Group, training graduate students from Thailand and overseas with at least a few years of work experience. The Management Associates are trained on the job in Thailand for two years and then assigned for an additional two or years overseas. These assignments cover different departments of a subsidiary company, requiring the students to work on cross-functional basis in Production, Accounting, Marketing, Production and Quality Management, and Raw Material Procurement.

The MAs are also assigned a mentor from the management team, who can be either a local or an expat with significant experience to coach future managers. One-on-One coaching by professional third party facilitators and HR consultants is also provided throughout the program.

Graduates of the program are given real international assignment abroad, not just an internship. Upon completing the assignment, they can return to the headquarters in Thailand as midlevel executives. As such, the program is able to fast-track MAs to managerial posts, a process that in the past required 10 years of company tenure.
