Novelties from the point of view of development, research and innovation in the world of machine tools and CNC, have been the happy result of the collaboration between the GP Meccanica (Castell’Alfero, Italy) and Fagor Automation for the realization of a multi-purpose machine tool focused on aviation industry.
This is the new 3000 Premium Plus Five, machine-tool built by GP Meccanica (Giordano Paventa Meccanica), an Italian company that continues the production of milling machines previously built and provided under the Paventa brand. This machine-tool continues the trend that Paventa had undertaken in recent years, which is increasingly focused on the aviation and energy industries, more and more focused on workmanship of alloys, titanium and stainless steels.
Fabio Paventa, General Manager of GP Meccanica, says: “In my experience, I have seen that many Italian mold makers are turning to sectors such as energy components, for mining and processing of oil and gas equipment in the field of wind energy, as well as fields related to aerospace; their request for machines becomes increasingly targeted to multifunctional machines, large and with high performance, capable of performing turning and milling integrated, featuring high-speed and also processing 5/6-axis simultaneous machining.
With this goal in mind and thanks to the collaboration between Italian GP Meccanica and Fagor Automation, the machine Premium 3000 Plus Five has been created, equipped with CNC 8065M Power of Fagor, as well as motors, optical encoders and drives all Fagor brand. It’s a machine with moving column of generous dimensions: 3,400 mm travel for the X axis with double motor (tandem), 1,000 for Y axis, and 1,000 for Z axis, double-tool changer, dual tool magazine (remember that the Fagor CNC can handle up to 4 magazines, shared on the same machine or on up to 4 independent channels, for a maximum of 28 axes), a tilting head (B-axis) with 16,000 rpm spindle motor, and finally a rotary table (C-axis) that allows to even carry out turning operations on the same machine.
The choice of the CNC Fagor, was made because many end-users, already Paventa customers, were used to Italians CNC’s, and are now looking for a system that allows them: to reuse their programs, to program in a fast and simple way, to easily edit, execute and resume execution after machining interruptions. This is now possible only with the CNC 8065M of Fagor, partly developed by the Research and Development Unit of Fagor Automation in Ivrea (Italy). Focused on Italians customer’s demand, and thanks to its technical know-how, has developed an ISO translator that allows the customer to take its old programs, developed on other systems (currently available for all Selca? CNCs), and use them at the Fagor 8065M. But more than this, integrated on the CNC, it’s available the new programming language ProGTL3 (Professional Geometric and Technological LanguAir Jordan XXXII 32 Shoes
