BOSCH Packaging Technology’s Two-in-One biscuit packaging system will receive the WorldStar 2016 packaging award from the World Packaging Organisation (WPO).
The official award ceremony will be held during the International Packaging Conference, which will take place in May in Budapest, Hungary.
A first of its kind, the highly flexible biscuit packaging system enables fast changeovers between slug and pile packs on the same line. With it, manufacturers can change pack sizes within a short time. They do not need to change machine parts to switch between pack formats, allowing them to introduce different formats and special campaigns within a short period of time to meet fast-changing consumer demands.

Besides ensuring optimal product flow, the packaging system delivers high output and careful handling of all kinds and shapes of biscuits. Major global biscuit manufacturers have started using the system since it was launched in 2014.
The system, from product distribution right through to primary and secondary packaging, is designed as seamlessly integrated for maximum overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Compared with previous systems that use two separate machines to produce both pack styles, the Two-in-One system takes up less floor space.
The WorldStar 2016 award, which is presented annually by WPO, will be the second prestigious award for Bosch Packaging Technology. The company nabbed the German Packaging Award 2014.
A total of 293 projects from 35 countries across 10 categories were evaluated by jurors for the award. A key criterion is a product’s ability to combine innovation and outstanding execution.
WPO is nonprofit, nongovernmental, international federation of national and regional packaging institutes and associations, and member companies. Founded in 1968, it aims to achieve ‘better quality of life through better packaging for more people.'
