Borealis announced it will present AED 1 million each to the Emirates National Schools and the UAE Disabled Sports Federation through the company's Borealis Social Fund. The Borealis Social Fund, established in 2008, has been undertaking proects to improve the social welfare of the communities in which Borealis operates.
The Emirates National Schools (ENS) offers first-rate educational programmes from kindergarten through to grade 12 with the aim of preparing students for post-secondary studies. About 8,000 students are currently enrolled at the five separate campuses sharing a common curriculum.
The other recipient the UAE Disabled Sports Federation, was founded with the aim to promote better awareness of the special needs of the disabled and to encourage their active integration into society. Federation athletes participate in regional, national and international events in a wide variety of athletic disciplines.

The Borealis Social Fund was founded in order to give something back to the communities where Borealis operates, according to Borealist Chief Executive Mark Garrett. Mr. Garret presented the 2015 Borealis Social Fund cheques to each organisation at a special ceremony on 28 October 2015 in Dusit Thani Hotel, Abu Dhabi.
Through the Borealis Social Fund, the company has provided regular support for a range of humanitarian and educational organisations in the UAE such as the Red Crescent, the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care, the Family Development Foundation, and other select charities.
