UBM Asia, Asia's largest trade exhibition organizer, expands its coverage of the healthy and beauty industry with a new show, vietbeauty 2016.
vietbeauty 2016 is officially supported by the Ho Chi Minh City Cosmetics Association, the Vietnam Essential Oils, Aromatherapy and Cosmetics Association, and the Ho Chi Minh City Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery. This recent addition to UBM Asia’s ASEANbeauty, philbeauty, beautyexpo, and Asia Esthetic and Skincare Exposition (AES) events will be held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from August 18 to 20, 2016.
The choice of location for the new premier international beauty trade show reflects Vietnam’s position as one of the fastest-growing Southeast Asian markets. Recent studies by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) rank the country, which has a population of more than 92 million and a steady GDP growth rate above 5 percent in the past few years, as having the fastest-growing middle class in Southeast Asia.
Vietnam has been expanding its cosmetics and personal care market from US$349 million value in 2009 to US$730 million in 2013, making it one of the rising beauty target markets in ASEAN. This fast growth is expected to persist in the next five years amid increasing demand from consumers, in particular urban area dwellers, for more varied health and beauty products, which in turn spurs demand for imported and sophisticated products comprising cosmetics, skincare, hair care, and personal care. In the rural districts, consumption of beauty and health-related products is likewise on the rise.
M. Gandhi, UBM Asia in ASEAN managing director, said visitors to the show can expect to meet more than 150 leading suppliers from 15 countries and regions. The product exhibits will cover cosmetics, skincare, hair care, nail care, spa and wellness products, and beauty salon and aesthetic equipment and supplies from Asian and international supplies.
"We chose to launch vietbeauty given the opportunity with the country's current economic growth and want to deliver a higher quality and level of business for buyers and manufacturers beyond what they have ever experienced before. The event expects to have the strong participation of leading brands providing full packaging, labeling, and ingredient sourcing for beauty manufacturers as well as seminars and events to improve the aesthetician skills for locals," Mr Gandhi stated.
According to Dr. Nguyen Van Minh, vice president of the Vietnam Essential Oils, Aromatherapy and Cosmetics Association and supporting partner of vietbeauty, "Playing an active role in helping to develop the beauty industry in Vietnam, the Vietnam Essential Oils, Aromatherapy and Cosmetics Association is pleased to know that there will be an important trade show, vietbeauty, which will be held from 18 to 20 August 2016 in Vietnam. This will be a unique opportunity for beauty suppliers to showcase their products and services to potential buyers, distributors as well as to bring together people from different countries, especially in the Mekong Delta region, to create successful business connections regionally and globally in order to help advance the beauty industry in Vietnam."
Prof. Le Hanh, MD, PhD, president of the Ho Chi Minh City Society of Plastic & Aesthetic Surgery, noted the significant growth in the aesthetic field in the past 10 years and forecasts continued growth ahead.
"The Ho Chi Minh City Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery is delighted to support the vietbeauty exhibition. Together with UBM, we plan to organize several aesthetic scientific conferences and workshops in order to bring new technologies and advanced knowledge in these fields to benefit aesthetic surgeons who visit the show. I believe this will also be an ideal opportunity to network and source new products for plastic and aesthetic surgery and the beauty industry as a whole," Professor Hanh added.
