New elements respond to global trends
In response to the global trends three key elements were included in this edition: automation, green technology and innovation. These new elements were captured in the show theme - "Greenovation - Solution to Sustainability" and brought into the forefront developments in various manufacturing sectors where plastics and rubber play a key role, such as in packaging, automotive, electronics, building and construction, medical, toys, etc. A wide range of technologies in raw materials and machinery were displayed at the fairground, such as carbon fibre reinforced thermoplastics, nylon frame retardant, thermal conduction resin, silicone rubber injection moulding system, MuCell injection moulding technology, the industry's first thermoformable PPSU foam, world premier's high speed corrugator for double wall corrugated pipe & moulds, etc.
This year’s edition also introducted automated technology as a new theme zone known as "Industrial Automation Zone", which showcased the latest automation equipment such as robotics, sensor, drive, control system, visual control, dehydration and cooling systems. Live demonstration of robotics and fully automated production lines were held at "Robot Parade & Smart Production" to highlight the multiple advantages of robotics in today’s manufacturing world. Green technologies at Chinaplas have become more diverse with raw materials shown side by side with the latest processing systems for biodegradable materials.
Seminars were also held and were ideal venue for exchange of information among leading experts and scholars as well as professionals from around the world. Of interest was the Medical Plastics Conference which revealed the potential of medical plastics and innovative technologies in the expanding medical market.
The 30th edition of CHINAPLAS will be held on 25-28 April 2016 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
