V-Series pressure sensors

Source: Release Date:2010-05-18 742
Semiconductor/Electronic ChipSemiconductor / Electronic Chip
A new melt-pressure sensor and electronics package for plastics extruders has been developed by Dynisco especially for use in China. The V-Series ("V" stands for Value) are available in popular pressure ranges, outputs and configurations. They are priced to compete with locally produced sensors, which have fewer features. The Dynisco V-Series diaphragm is 0.152 mm (0.006 inch) thick - 50% thicker than those in other tested sensors. This means that the Dynisco sensor will stand up better to rugged processing conditions without a loss in material flexibility. Its sensor stem is constructed of 17-4 stainless steel, which has better composition and strength than the stainless used by many other suppliers. Also, single-piece snout construction eliminates the need for a weld, a failure point on some competitive devices. The V-Series melt-pressure sensors are ideal for polymer extrusion applications requiring simple installation, repeatability and field-proven reliability. They are available in four pressure ranges (3000, 5000, 7500 and 10,000 psi). Sensors have standard output signals of 3.33 mV/V or 4 to 20 mA and are designed to work with most pressure indicators. The V-Series is equipped with a 1/2-20 UNF thread for installation in standard transducer mounting holes.
