UK food chain Waitrose plans to open up to eight stores in Bahrain, said Dubai-based Fine Fare Food Market (FFFM), which manages the day-to-day operations of Waitrose stores in the region.
Speaking at the opening of the second outlet in St Christopher's School, Saar, in mid-March, FFFM marketing manager Colette Shannon said Waitrose are delighted to be expanding their footprint in Bahrain.
"At Waitrose we value food safety and traceability, and make every effort to source responsibly to minimise the impact of growing and transporting the food we eat," Ms Shannon said.
She said Waitrose Saar would offer customers a modern, convenient shopping experience, while ensuring the everyday needs of our customers were satisfied.
Waitrose opened its first store in Amwaj in Bahrain just 13 months ago. The group now has over 200 stores worldwide, including two in Dubai, and four more are slated to open in the UAE this year.Homme
