The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said that Asia is rebounding from the economic crisis more quickly than anticipated. It projected growth for the whole of Asia, which includes the advanced economies of Japan, Australia and New Zealand, at 6.9% this year and 7% in 2011. The inflation rate in developing Asia, which consists of China, India and other south Asian countries, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and some Pacific Island nations, will likely average 5.9% this year and 3.7% next year, according to IMF. Seizing new opportunities in manufacturing clusters, such as aerospace, oil & gas, and medical technology including growth in the construction industry, confidence has returned to metalworking sector following strong rebounds in industry and economic performances in 2010. As the global metalworking market begins its path to recovery, the time is right for industry players in the metalworking sector to step up their efforts to grow their manufacturing capabilities.
