With its state-of-the-art injection molding technology and innovative processes, Wittmann Battenfeld was already able to set itself apart from its competitors at the Plastpol in 2010, when the company won first prize in the “machines” category, and in the “processes” category as well. In 2011, the company took first place in the category of “machines for high-precision plastics processing” with its MicroPower. This year, the award was granted for “process technology”. Wittmann Battenfeld was the successful contestant in the “processes” category with its “Variomold” process – using Bfmold technology to make high-gloss parts.

This innovative process was demonstrated on an EcoPower 180/750 producing a screen. Bfmold technology lends itself in particular to making parts with impeccable surface quality without any visible joint lines or sink marks. In this technology, the entire space below the cavity is used for heating and cooling. This enables extremely even and, above all, quick cooling of the mold area.
The award was presented to Bogdan Zabrzewski, Managing Director of the Battenfeld sales company in Poland, and Wolfgang Roth, Head of Application and Process Technology at Wittmann Battenfeld in Kottingbrunn, Austria during an official award ceremony held at the Plastpol in Kielce.
