IN 2013, the world beer market is set to exceed 2 billion hectolitres for the first time. Whilst the beer market is stagnating in some regions, like Western Europe, new and interesting opportunities are booming elsewhere, like Kazakhstan, Viet Nam, Angola and India, with some to see double-digit growth.
According to Canadean, growth in volumes is expected since worldwide per-capita consumption is less than 30 litres. It also said that from 2009 to 2015, the world beer market will grow by 2.8% per year on average. In Asia, the annual average increase will be 5%, and by 2015, the region will account for some 40% of the world’s beer output. Meanwhile, China is expected to represent 25% of the world’s beer market. By 2015, this market will reach 624 million hL, says Euromonitor.
