WUXGA Full HD Compatible Projectors

Source:Sony Electronics Asia Pacific Release Date:2011-04-11 142

Based on its award-winning 3LCD Bright Era Technology, Sony presents two Wide Ultra XGA (WUXGA) projectors, the new VPL-FH500L and VPL-FH30 with outstanding picture resolution (1920x1200). These latest projectors for professional use are well suited for auditoriums, lecture theatres, large meeting rooms, and conference rooms within the corporate, education, and healthcare sectors looking for superior cost and performance ratio, wide-panel projectors.

With more end-user content being created in HD, the VPL-FH30 and VPL-FH500L deliver best-in-class picture resolution to ensure none of the image detail is lost when projected. Designed to cope in high ceiling environments, such as auditoriums, churches, and schools, both projectors are capable of extreme lens shift of vertical +/- 60% horizontal +/- 32% for the VPL-FH30 and vertical +/- 113% horizontal +/- 63% for the VPL-FH500L. This unique feature eradicates the need to tilt the projector, which can deteriorate image quality.

The new multifunctional projectors also conform with the Grayscale Standard Display Function defined in Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine, making it ideal for use in healthcare institutions where being able to view minute imaging details is crucial. It is therefore possible to use the projector for medical training and conference purposes in hospitals, medical centres, and universities for presenting X-ray, MRI, and CT images.

"Achieving full HD resolution and more, the VPL-FH500L and VPL-FH30 are built to be able to meet large venue projection needs. Even projecting from great distances, the result of your presentation is crisp and vivid due to the extremely high definition of these projection systems," said Mr. Tsuyoshi Nagata, General Manager for Presentation Display, Business and Professional Products, Sony Electronics Asia Pacific.

At 7,000 lumens, the high brightness VPL-FH500L features twin-lamp system for automatic backup for uninterrupted meetings and lectures. The VPL-FH30 has a light output of 4,300 lumens and 1.6x manual zoom, which allow for high magnification of up to 40" to 600" screen size.

Built with practicality in mind, Sony's WUXGA projector range features an innovative Quad Filter System that uses a single airflow system to stop nearly all common dust particles from entering the projector. This is ideal in lecture halls where there can often be dust issues. The VPL-FH30 filter has an average lifespan of 15,000 hours and can be cleaned when it is time to replace the lamp. For the VPL-FH500L, the replacement filter and lamp can be changed once every 8,000 hours. By synchronising the projectors' filter-clean (VPL-FH30) or filter-change (VPL-FH500L) cycles with the lamp replacement cycle, it leads to cost savings and reduced maintenance efforts.

Both projectors are extremely user-friendly with tasks such as colour matching and panel alignment easy to execute. The projectors are also compatible with Sony's projector lenses; up to 10 optional lenses for the FH500L and 2 optional lenses for FH30, making it possible for customers to upgrade all or parts of their existing installation.

In Asia Pacific, the VPL-FH500L is available in February 2011 and the VPL-FH30 in March 2011.
