YSM to display metal forming products in FABTECH 2015

THE company will be showcasing the YSM-36T Strip & Wire Forming Machine. The thickness of the strip is 0.3-1.6mm, and up to 40mm max width of strip; wire diameter is Ø0.6 – 3.2 mm. The machine can produce all kinds of computer shrapnel and electronic/ lighting components, and fastener parts in the automotive sector.

Moreover, the electric control is upgraded to PLC touch screen, so production information is shown on the screen, making all the information crystal clear to users. The forming slides are with double cams, so that when forming tool returns, it will be driven by backward cam. The integration of backward cams and slide sensors prevents forming tools from stucking, protecting the equipment and prolonging the lifetime of the equipment. The machine is installed with INTERCOM automatic NC tapping made in Italy, providing tapping solution for users. The YSM-36T achieves two kinds of tasks: forming and tapping.

YSM has been developing press forming machines since the 1980’s and has established a solid foundation in machine R&D. Recently, the company has successfully sold high-end press forming machines to the European market. Now the European market takes up 20% of YSM's exports, which indicates that Taiwanese products are highly accepted in the international platform.

"Our global arrangement is pretty good as equilibrium, and the primary application of our machines is in the automotive and motorcycle sectors, such as components: like the tube mount components, brake components, and headlight mount components," declared Vice-General Manager Lin Ching-Tang.

Due to the advanced technology and durability offered by the company, YSM machines for both sheet and wire rods are widely respected by customers from the automotive industry. With regards to sheet forming, YSM does not adopt the continual mold design but pre-presses the sheet and has the sheet then put onto machines for the forming process, which successfully reduces waste. Together with the all-in-one forming trend now prevalent in the industry, Mr. Lin and his R&D team have integrated presses, forming machines, tapping machines, welding equipment, and automation into one and this design indeed has helped YSM customers keep their costs down.

About 40% of YSM machines are used in the automotive and motorcycle sectors, and another 40% is for miniature circuit breaker sector; the rest is for other sectors.
