At CHINAPLAS 2016, Mr. Homer Lee, Zambello Riduttori's manager for Asia, was on hand to talk about the company's products and how the company has been supporting the region's rapidly expanding industrial sector.
CHINAPLAS has been supporting the plastics industry for 30 years. What do you think are the major changes during this period and the opportunities they brought?
Mr. Lee: Zambello has participated in CHINAPLAS for more than 20 years. It witnessed the takeoff of the Chinese economy. This expanding economy indicates that China is turning its emphasis from price-oriented to quality-oriented in its machinery production. At the same time, while the China plastics industry is exporting more to Southeast Asia, the quality of exported products are given more emphasis. Thus, when we incorporate the two factors together, we can see that the international market has an increasing demand for Zambello’s high quality products. Of course, we have encountered several challenges over the years, including imitation of our products by other manufacturers, yet our products are not replaceable due to the high-end technology applied by Zambello in its production process. We are very much confident in the uniqueness of our sophisticated technology.
I’m very positive on the future of China’s plastics industry and also think that there will be a strong cooperation between the manufacturers in China and Southeast Asian, where emerging demand in plastics machineries will be sustained due to the implementation of infrastructure development projects.
What products did Zambello presented at CHINAPLAS 2016 and what are their best features?
Mr. Lee: Zambello presented its latest innovative products at the exhibition. With the stable transmission system and a wide selections of single-screw and twin-screw extruders, Zambello’s speed reduction gearboxes remain at the top of the market. The models exhibited at CHINAPLAS represent a complete production line: TST 48/58-COR; ZT 60/70-COR-HT; MZPE2/200; and MNP3/160+LQ160L.

Mr. Homer Lee, Manager for Asia, Zambello
What role does Zambello play in the production line? Is Zambello modifying its development strategy in 2016?
Mr. Lee: In the area of extruder, Zambello plays an essential role being the heart of the production line. Gearboxes are the heart of extruders as they determine the operational quality of the entire transmission system. In 2016, we intend to focus on the development of Southeast Asian markets and modify our strategies based on the local industrial distribution and the latest local situation in manufacturing.
What are your targets at CHINAPLAS this year?
Mr. Lee: Zambello’s goal in participating at CHINAPLAS differed a bit from those of the other manufacturers. We aimed to attract the attention of end-users since it is a well-known fact that many of the requirements in using Zambello’s gearboxes come from end-users. The plastic machinery manufacturers who insert Zambello’s gearboxes make their equipment much more preferable among the end-users. Therefore, we showcased our quality products to a wide range of audience and also remind our old customers that Zambello is always here to provide the best service available.
Please provide your forecast on the plastics industry in the next three years.
Mr. Lee: The Chinese market is an irreplaceable region at present. Benefitting from the FTA agreements between ASEAN+3 countries, we expect that there will be a large flow of machineries into the Southeast Asian region. But it takes at least ten years for the ASEAN countries to flourish into a mature market. Zambello has already entered this market and has been gaining strong impressions among potential customers.
