The contract was signed on Monday, 7 May 2012 in Batam, Indonesia. The scope of the agreement includes the design, manufacture and supply of Pre-engineered Steel Buildings for the customer.
Caterpillar Batam will invest a total of US$150 million on the facility which is located on Batam Island in Indonesia.
The facility will be dedicated to the production of a wide range of mining truck chassis and bodies for shipment to mining customers throughout the Asia Pacific region.
Zamil Steel Vietnam will commence shipments of the pre-engineered buildings in the second quarter of 2012, and end in the third quarter of 2012. The contract's positive impact on the company's consolidated financials will be visible in the financials of 2012 upon completion of all product delivery.
