ZEISS Industrial Metrology opens competence centre in Malaysia

With its global headquarters at Oberkochen, Germany, Carl Zeiss is an international group of companies active in the optical, opto-electronic, and industrial metrology sector.

On 28th January 2014, in a bid to better serve and enable customers realize their metrology ambitions, ZEISS opened a new Industrial Metrology Competence Centre in collaboration with German-Malaysian Institute. The new Competence Centre is located in the GMI campus in Kajang, Malaysia. It would serve both as a demo centre providing real time demonstration of engineering parts on ZEISS coordinate measuring machines, as well as a technical centre offering measurement services, programming solutions, application training courses and other customer-oriented events. The Competence Centre is now home to two machines - the ZEISS CONTURA G2 and the ZEISS ACCURA II.

The grand opening event was honoured by Mr Manfred Bender, Vice President of Sales, Europe & Asia Pacific, Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology Group, Mr Ven Raman, Managing Director of Carl Zeiss Group South East Asia, and Mr Shaun Lim, Regional Division Manager of Carl Zeiss Southeast Asia, Industrial Metrology Group. The company expresses their gratitude and appreciation to customers, business partners, and GMI representatives who were at the ceremony, and looks forward to better serve the Malaysian market with this latest facility addition. This expansion reaffirms the growth of ZEISS in Malaysia.
