Aurora Spine’s interspinous device was used in a minimally invasive surgery in Israel

AURORA Spine Corporation (TSX VENTURE:ASG) announced that its ZIP ULTRA Minimally Invasive interspinous device has been used in a surgical implant in Israel.

The ZIP Ultra is designed in various sizes to accommodate variations in patient anatomy

This interspinous fixation implant for spinal fusion uses a ONE-STEP? locking mechanism and articulating spikes. It features various sizes to accommodate differences in patient anatomy, thereby eliminating the need for a set screw.

Professor Reuven Gepstein, who has performed multiple surgeries at the Herzliya Medical Center, said the system is very intuitive and easy to use, ensuring a short and safe surgery without the risks of a nerve impact.

The first surgery using ZIP Ultra MIS was performed under local anesthesia, was quick and involved minimal pain, Professor Gepstein said. The patient's recovery time is expected to be fast, he added.
