THE world is changeable. It seems that just a while ago that BRIC were still the most-talked emerging countries, but now it seems to be MINT’s turn. But one thing is for certain, whether BRIC (Brazil, Russia, China and India) or MINT (Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria and Turkey), Asian countries are always in the spotlight. For the cosmetics industry, the prosperous prospects in Asia will always remain attractive.
Whilst the global cosmetics industry is exhibiting buoyant growth, the latest report by Markets and Markets indicates that the Asia-Pacific region is estimated to grow with the fastest CAGR, due to buoyant economies like China and India, with their increasing numbers of beauty-conscious consumers. And future growth in this area is likely to be driven by women over the age of 30, who are looking for anti-aging treatments.
This is the major reason why anti-aging is always the most hotly-contested category in our China Personal Care & Cosmetics Innovation Awards (CPCCI). Co-organised by Ringier and Reed Sinopharm, these Awards have become one of the most anticipated events for the China personal care and cosmetic industry, by providing the industry a rundown of the most innovative launches from the suppliers annually.
