STOBER was founded in Germany in 1934 as a mechanical workshop. In 1943, the company introduced its first independently developed variable-speed drive unit.
It later evolved from a traditional gearbox and gear unit manufacturer into a complete drive system supplier covering gear units, motors, drive controllers, and automation technology.
STOBER products are based on a modular system. Gear units, motors, and drive controllers can be combined according to the required torque, speed, precision, installation space, and dynamic performance of each machine.
Its core technologies include low-backlash servo planetary gear units, helical bevel gear units, rack-and-pinion drive systems, synchronous servo motors, encoderless high-efficiency motors, and multi-axis drive control systems.
For the machine tool industry, STOBER provides two-speed spindle gearboxes, servo gear units, and rack-and-pinion systems for lathes, vertical machining centers, and large bridge-type machining centers.
These solutions help improve transmission rigidity, positioning accuracy, and machining stability while reducing vibration, heat generation, and thermal expansion that may affect machining quality.
STOBER currently operates 14 subsidiaries and works with approximately 80 service partners in more than 40 countries and regions.
Its Taiwan office provides local sales support, product selection, drive sizing and power calculations, technical consulting, and after-sales service for Taiwan’s machine tool, automation, semiconductor equipment, and industrial machinery manufacturers.
