Jun Shiau focuses on the development, manufacture and sale of sanding machinery. Its woodworking range includes solid-wood, veneer, lacquer, planer, bottom, segmented-pad and fixed-table sanders. Machines can be selected according to panel type, working width, stock-removal rate and required surface quality.

In 1995, the company worked with Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute to develop a new generation of sanding machines. The project improved machine productivity, operator control and maintenance. Available features include microcomputer controls, touchscreens, automatic safety stops, sanding-belt oscillation, belt-cleaning systems and stable conveyor feeding.

In 2007, Lien Shiau Machinery was established to manufacture light-duty sanding machines, while Jun Shiau concentrated on heavy-duty and special-purpose equipment. This structure allows the group to serve both standard-machine customers and manufacturers requiring customised heavy-duty solutions.

For metalworking applications, its equipment processes stainless steel, aluminium alloys, titanium alloys, steel, copper, stamped parts, castings and fabricated sheet-metal components. Operations include sanding, brushing, polishing, rust removal, deburring and weld-mark removal. Target sectors include construction, automotive, electronics, aerospace and precision-component manufacturing.

The company’s main value is its ability to support both wood and metal surface finishing through one sanding-technology platform. Sanding-head combinations, working widths, automation controls and upstream or downstream units can be configured according to material, dimensions, surface requirements and production capacity.
