LCY’s business history began with the timber company established by Yen-Chang Lee. In 1965, Kun-Chih Lee founded LCY Chemical to produce urea-formaldehyde resin required for plywood production, marking the group’s transition from timber processing to chemical materials.
The company subsequently developed methanol derivatives, industrial solvents, thermoplastic elastomers and polypropylene. Its GLOBALPRENE portfolio includes SBS, SEBS, SEPS and SIS materials that provide rubber-like elasticity while remaining compatible with thermoplastic processing.
LCY’s polypropylene portfolio covers homopolymer, random-copolymer and impact-copolymer grades. It also develops bio-circular and recycled polypropylene solutions to help customers increase recycled content and reduce product carbon footprints.
For semiconductor manufacturing, LCY supplies electronic-grade IPA and advanced wet-process formulations for wafer cleaning, drying, FEOL, BEOL and advanced packaging. These materials are designed around metal-ion, particle and organic-impurity control to support low defect rates and stable manufacturing yields.
LCY also develops PFAS-free colourless polyimide and ultra-low-loss resins for flexible displays, AI servers, high-speed computing and high-frequency communication substrates.
The company’s main value is its cross-material platform combining basic chemicals, polymers, electronic chemicals and sustainable technologies. Customers can access material selection, customised formulation, process support and scalable production according to performance, purity, processing and decarbonisation requirements.
