APEC began developing advanced machine-tool technologies in 2001 and joined TTGroup in 2005. The company subsequently focused its resources on large five-axis machines and complete aerospace manufacturing solutions.
Aircraft structures create different machining challenges. Aluminium airframe components require high spindle speed, large travel and rapid material removal. Titanium and nickel-based engine parts require high rigidity, torque and thermal stability. Composite components require effective dust collection and contamination control.
APEC addresses these requirements through dedicated machine platforms. High-speed gantry machines process large aluminium structures. Heavy-duty five-axis machines handle titanium and superalloys. Horizontal machines support engine casings and complex housings. Composite-material machines integrate dust-collection and filtration systems.
The company develops key five-axis components, including two-axis milling heads and rotary tables. This internal capability allows each machine to be configured around the required spindle speed, cutting torque, workpiece dimensions, material and machining angle.
APEC operates as more than an equipment supplier. Its services include workpiece analysis, machine selection, tooling, fixture planning, machining programs, cutting trials, automation, factory planning and technical training. The result is a production-ready process rather than a standalone machine.
Its MC twin-head series uses two independent two-axis heads, spindles and tool magazines on one crossbeam. This arrangement allows simultaneous machining of long aerospace components such as wing spars and stringers, increasing output without duplicating the complete machine footprint.
