Speed Tiger was founded by Hung-Wu Lee in 1998 and began producing carbide cutting tools with a single six-axis tool grinder. The company established an international trading department in 2000 and subsequently expanded its production capacity, building an integrated system covering tool design, precision grinding, coating, inspection and cutting tests.
The business initially relied heavily on OEM production before shifting its focus to the SPEED TIGER brand. Its strategy is to supply more than standard tools. It combines tool geometry, substrate, coating and cutting parameters according to each workpiece material and machine condition.
Since introducing Swiss PVD coating equipment in 2004, Speed Tiger has integrated tool manufacturing and surface treatment. This allows the company to develop different cutting solutions for hardened steel, stainless steel, titanium, aluminium, graphite and composite materials while addressing wear, chipping, heat and chip-control problems.
Top Tiger (Shanghai) Precision Tool Co., Ltd. was established in 2006 as the group’s manufacturing, sales and technical-service operation for the Chinese market. The Shanghai company supports SPEED TIGER carbide end mills, specialised cutting tools and coated products with five-axis grinding and related processing capabilities.
The group’s main value is the integration of standard tools, customised tools, PVD coating and practical cutting tests on one technical platform. Customers can complete selection, trial cutting, parameter optimisation and production implementation through one supplier, reducing testing time while improving productivity, cost per component and machining quality.
