Company Introduction

AIDC maintains an integrated aerospace capability spanning aircraft design, systems engineering, prototype manufacturing, production, flight testing, upgrading and life-cycle logistics. It is one of the relatively few aerospace companies in the Asia-Pacific region with experience in both complete military-aircraft development and serial production for international commercial-aircraft programmes.

Its major defence programmes include the AT-3 advanced trainer, Indigenous Defence Fighter and Brave Eagle advanced jet trainer. AIDC supports these and other military platforms through aircraft manufacturing, avionics integration, fleet maintenance, capability upgrades and logistics. It is also expanding its F-16 maintenance, unmanned-aircraft and counter-UAS operations.

For international commercial programmes, AIDC manufactures fuselage, wing, empennage, door, composite and engine components. Its customer and partner base includes Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, GE Aerospace, Rolls-Royce, Honeywell, Pratt & Whitney and Safran. Participation in these programmes requires strict control of product quality, special processes, delivery performance and component traceability.

The Taiwan Advanced Composite Center supports the development and manufacture of thermoset and thermoplastic aerospace structures. These materials reduce aircraft weight while providing high strength and corrosion resistance, making them important for energy-efficient commercial aircraft, unmanned systems and advanced military platforms.

AIDC also applies its aerospace systems-engineering experience to energy, power storage and control, aerial observation, simulation, information systems, space applications and major infrastructure projects. These activities use the company’s capabilities in safety management, reliability engineering, precision manufacturing, verification and complex programme integration.

The company’s principal competitive value is its ability to combine aircraft-level engineering, precision manufacturing, composites, propulsion, avionics, testing and maintenance within one industrial platform. This supports Taiwan’s development of indigenous defence capabilities while providing international aerospace manufacturers with qualified, long-term engineering and production capacity.
