The addition of an AutoCAM ATS160A Trunion table effectively converts this VMX30Di into a simultaneous 5-axis machine with plenty of space on the left side of the worktable for a 2nd operation.

The featured part was programming entirely using Hurco’s Conversational Programming, made easier with Solid Model Import software. If you are considering an upgrade to 5-axis machining but is concerned with the learning curve in operating a 5-axis machine and 5-axis CAM programming, Hurco’s Winmax controller helps bridge that gap. Hurco’s Solid Model Import software provides visibility of the part and its geometry during programming. Multiple-sided parts with compound angles can be easily programmed using transform plane (G68.2) by just clicking on the relevant surface on the CNC controller screen.
