CHINAPLAS: Coperion focuses on recycling technologies for maximum efficiency

At Chinaplas 2026 (April 21-24, 2026, Shanghai, China), Coperion will be showcasing its comprehensive technology and systems expertise for the processing and recycling of plastics at booth 2.1F98 in hall 2.1. For both areas of application, Coperion offers individual system components as well as complete system solutions from a single source with its brands Herbold Meckesheim, Coperion K-Tron and Colormax.

With a ZSK 58 Mc¹⁸ and an STS 25 Mc¹¹ Coperion will be showcasing two representatives of its highly efficient twin-screw extruders at Chinaplas 2026. Other exhibits include the Coperion K-Tron K-ML-SFS-KT20 twin-screw feeder, the Coperion K-Tron twin-screw feeder K-ML-D5-KT35 with 2415 vacuum separator for ingredient replenishment, the K-ML-D5-KS60 single-screw feeder and the C/S-LW-NT28 twin-screw feeder from Colormax Systems. In addition, the high-pressure discharge valve CVH 550 and the two-way turnout WEK 265, both suitable for granules, will be on display.

Compounding: Reliable technologies for maximum performance

Coperion is considered a pioneer in the development of the densely combing, co-rotating twin screw extruder. For the first time, Coperion will present a running ZSK 58 Mc¹⁸ . The transparent process part of the extruder opens up exciting insights into its mixing and dispersion behavior.

The twin-screw extruder has a specific torque of 18 Nm/cm³ and achieves throughputs of up to 2,500 kg/h with low energy consumption at the same time. The extruder is robust and reliable, and the system availability and the OEE value (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) are extremely high. The ZSK 58 Mc¹⁸will be shown together with a high-precision Coperion K-Tron K2-ML-D5-T35 twin-screw feeder. This is equipped with the product-friendly ActiFlow™ bulk material flow aid.

In addition, the STS 25 Mc laboratory extruder is¹¹. It is the smallest representative of the STS extruder series. It has closed and easy-to-clean surfaces and is considered extremely user-friendly. Its production parameters can be reliably transferred to other STS sizes, making it the ideal system for recipe development. The STS 25 Mc¹¹will be exhibited at Chinaplas with a Coperion K-Tron K-ML-SFS-KT20 twin-screw feeder.

The STS 96 is now also available as STS Mc PLUS with a maximum specific torque of 13.6 Nm/cm³. With this upgrade, the extruder achieves up to 20% higher throughputs in all applications. The higher filling degree in the process section and the lower shear load during compounding also improve product quality.

In addition to the ZSK and STS series, Coperion CTE offers twin screw extruders that are specifically designed for the Asian and other emerging markets.

Plastic recycling: Flexible solutions for an attractive price-performance ratio

Coperion will present its great expertise in technology and process solutions for plastics recycling together with Herbold Meckesheim. Since the merger of the two companies, they have intensively developed their recycling technologies and optimally coordinated them with each other, so that the overall plants are characterized by extremely high efficiency in operation. Coperion and Herbold Meckesheim will be presenting a virtual recycling plant at Chinaplas. Visitors to booth 2.1F98 in hall 2.1 will be able to take a look inside key components of the recycling plant and see for themselves the process engineering details of the individual process steps and the high efficiency of the respective components.

In addition, Coperion will be showcasing its new, innovative system for recycling PET at Chinaplas 2026. This standardized solution for the production of PET re-compounds in the throughput range from 500 kg/h to 10 t/h ensures extremely high product quality at an attractive price-performance ratio. The system can be adapted very flexibly: it can be used for bottle-to-bottle, bottle-to-sheet, bottle-to-fiber and tray recycling applications. For EFSA or FDA approval for direct food contact of PET, the recycling system can be combined with an SSP (Solid State Polycondensation) reactor.

Dosing and conveying: Theright amount of ingredients at the right time

Coperion offers the industry's largest selection of dispensing solutions. From screw feeders to vibratory feeders, bulk pumps, belt weighers, liquid feeders and flow meters, all feeders are available in a variety of configurations and can be combined for any application. At Chinaplas 2026, single-screw feeders for free-flowing granules and powders as well as various twin-screw feeders for powders and low-flow additives will be on display.

The ActiFlow™ Smart bulk material flow aid will also be on display. ActiFlow is a solution without parts that come into contact with the product, which reliably prevents the bridging of difficult-flowing materials in differential feeders and ensures reliable dosing.

In addition, Coperion offers a wide range of proven, reliable vacuum sequencing solutions with state-of-the-art vacuum suction conveyors and separators, including the 2400 series. The 2400 series vacuum separators enable the conveying of free-flowing, dry bulk materials with high capacity, such as hopper filling or differential feeder refilling.
