“Smart Molding, Shaping the Future” Forum — Focus on Intelligent Transformation and Global Expansion

Amidst the dual waves of globalization and green transformation, how can the plastics mold industry leverage digitalization to achieve intelligent manufacturing upgrades and build sustainable competitiveness for the future? At CHINAPLAS 2026, the Hong Kong Mould and Die Council (HKMDC) will jointly organize the “Smart Molding, Shaping the Future – Intelligent Transformation and Sustainable Development in the Plastics & Molding Industry” Forum. The forum targets industry decision-makers, technical and production leaders, and will focus on two major themes: intelligent manufacturing upgrades and global market expansion.

The forum will present a complete pathway from “point optimization” to “system intelligence.” The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) will introduce a Digital Management System (DMS) tailored for the injection molding industry, using data flow to break efficiency bottlenecks. Hongrita Mold Ltd. will share practical experience in retrofitting existing plants with robotics, MES, and APS. Multitech Machinery will demonstrate an AI-driven vertical injection molding solution enabling unmanned production and quality enhancement. In response to global supply chain restructuring, Wellmei Mold MFG. Co., Ltd. will share its ten-year journey of establishing factories in multiple Southeast Asian countries, covering site selection logic, client trust building, and long-term cooperation models – providing actionable insights for companies planning overseas expansion.

Applications in Focus: Buyer’s Perspective on Industry Collaboration

On Day 3 of the exhibition, Applications in Focus will join hands with end-user industries in plastics and rubber to speak out collectively. From the perspective of branding, the sessions will directly address pain points in downstream sectors and seek collaborative solutions across the supply chain. Seven themed forums will dive into over 50 hot topics, including automotive, medical, packaging, antimicrobial, cables, and green PVC products. The event will gather leading enterprises, such as Weigao, Shanghai MicroPort, SAIC, Yanfeng, Bright Dairy, Want Want Group, Zijiang Enterprise, and Far East Cable to share insights and exchange experiences onsite.

Co-organized by Boosteam and the Antibacterial Materials Committee of Shanghai Plastics Industry Association, the “New Antibacterial Technology and Innovative Application Seminar” will invite end-users and research institutions from sectors, such as water purification appliances and fresh-keeping packaging to analyze antibacterial demand challenges. Hosted by the Shanghai Packaging Technology Association, the “2026 Technical Innovation Forum on Green Development of Plastic Packaging” will focus on the core themes of Green, Circular, Intelligent, and Low-carbon, sharing innovative practices. OE Automotive will highlight breakthroughs in plastics and rubber technologies across three dimensions—cabin health materials, circular economy, and low-carbon intelligent manufacturing—through the “Innovation Forum on Plastics & Rubber Technology Empowering the Automotive Supply Chain” and a business matching session. The Shanghai Lin-gang Research Center for Medical Equipment will present the “Seminar on Independent Innovation and Development of Medical Equipment,” emphasizing supply security and compliance verification, and focusing on building localized capabilities in medical materials. As the automotive electronics industry moves toward high-voltage, lightweight, and integrated development, new requirements are emerging for cable performance, including high-voltage resistance and anti-interference. To address these challenges, Super Evaluation Business will host the “2026 Cable Technology Innovation Summit – Empowering the Upgrading of Automotive and Electronic & Electrical Industries”, focusing on cutting-edge cable technologies, material innovations, and practical applications, and gathering industry elites to explore solutions together.

Day4 Trend Insights: Unlocking an Immersive Exhibition Experience

On Day 4, the grand finale of CHINAPLAS 2026, a brand-new full-day customized itinerary “Day4 Trend Insights” will be held to provide visitors with a fulfilling and in-depth exhibition experience.

In the morning, the “Decode Trends Forum” will gather leading experts, academic representatives, and specialists from leading enterprises to analyze policy trends and market insights in the plastics and rubber industries, decode the plastic aesthetics and design thinking behind CMF trends, and explore the innovation and application of core rubber and plastic technologies in emerging industries, such as robotics and the low-altitude economy.

The forum on “From Aesthetics to Emotion – 2026 CMF Trends and Applications” will focus on the theme of “Intelligence × Emotional Resonance”, highlighting the evolving role of CMF in the smart era. Wang Yunfan, Trend Consultant at WGSN, and Li Qin, CMF Designer at Zeekr Research Institute, together with other experts, will explore how materials, colors, and finishing techniques can be leveraged to create differentiated competitiveness and continuously evolving user experiences for products.

The “Shaping & Inspiring the Future: Seminar on Innovation & Development for Humanoid Robots & Low-Altitude Aircraft” seminar will bring together industry leaders, researchers, and manufacturing experts, including Zhang Hailiang, Deputy Director of the China Center for Information Industry Development, Jia Pengda, Vice President of Beijing Zhongke Huiling Robotics Technology Co., Ltd., etc. Through case studies and cross-disciplinary dialogue, the forum will explore innovative applications of plastics and rubber technologies in humanoid robots and the low-altitude economy, providing both strategic and practical references for new industry growth.

The “Scenario-Driven Innovation: Unlocking Opportunities in Plastics and Rubber Industries” Forum will feature distinguished speakers, such as Zheng Qiang, Qiushi Distinguished Professor at Zhejiang University, and Huang Jiaqi, an industry expert in the automotive and humanoid robot industries.
