CHINAPLAS had a successful 2026 edition with record-breaking 5,000+ quality exhibitors and attendance of 350,189 buyers

Asia’s mega exhibition, CHINAPLAS, closed its doors on April 24 to another highly successful edition. This year, the record-breaking edition gathered over 5,000 quality exhibitors in Shanghai and welcomed 350,180 global visitors who witnessed the latest innovations in the plastics and rubber industry.

Throughout the exhibition, visitors benefited from interacting with global suppliers and attending the concurrent events. They were able see live demonstrations on the show floor of emerging technologies and high-performance materials for fast-growing industries such as packaging, automotive, medical, electronics/electrical, etc. More than 3,800 machines were seen running live demonstrations, while over 1,900 raw material suppliers featured their solutions across various industry sectors.

While the exhibition space this year expanded over 390,000 sqm, spanning 16 exhibition halls and fully occupying the entire venue, the 5,000+ quality exhibitors from around the world represented an 11% surge compared with the 2024 edition in Shanghai. In the same vein, the 350,189 visitors during the 4-day run of the show reflected a 24.5% increase compared with the 2025 edition in Shenzhen.

More important than these figures were the innovations in smart, green, and upcoming technologies and material solutions that are shaping the industry, a reflection of the resilience of industry players in today’s uncertain global market.

Key highlights and technological advances featured include the utilization of artificial intelligence in accelerating the integration into manufacturing of plastics and rubber products toward enhancing efficiency, precision, quality, and energy savings. The exhibition brought into the limelight cutting-edge solutions in injection molding, extrusion and blow molding, as well as IoT‑driven digital management systems.

In terms of material solutions, the exhibition highlighted the transformation of circular economy toward high value – where recycled plastics are no longer optional but essential for supply chains. The visitors were able to experience the application of innovative materials designed to meet the evolving demands of both traditional manufacturing and emerging industries, such as new energy, energy storage, low‑altitude economy, humanoid robots, advanced medical devices, etc.  Given the rising prices of fuels and virgin materials, recycled plastics are becoming increasingly competitive – a realization that is expected to strengthen the role of non-petroleum-based materials in addressing environmental and low-carbon concerns. Thus, the recycling technologies presented indicated a substantial enhancement and upgrade toward efficient post-consumer film washing, bottle-to-bottle recycling, AI-driven sorting equipment, etc.

As has been in the past editions, CHINAPLAS this year featured a diverse program of concurrent events, among them the “Plastics Recycling & Circular Economy Conference and Showcase” that brought together more than 800 industry elites, and where leading enterprises provided comprehensive insights into policy trends, technological innovations, and market outlooks for recycling and circular economy. This year’s “Tech Talk” unveiled more than 40 breakthrough technologies, spanning five major themes including innovative packaging solutions, green and low-carbon solutions, automotive plastics solutions, etc. The “Additives Seminar: Enhancing Sustainability and the Values of Plastics” debuted at the exhibition, and featured high‑value solutions in modified plastics to help enterprises overcome cost and compliance bottlenecks, while leveraging innovative additives to achieve ESG goals, enhance product safety, and strengthen competitiveness. Another interesting concurrent event was the “Medical Plastics Connect” where  over 1,000 medical plastics technology suppliers offered a one‑stop platform to unlock next‑generation medical device solutions and its latest trends. The “Product Innovation Gallery”, themed “From Product to Technology · From Technology to Product”, showcased more than 200 pieces of meticulously crafted products. It provided visitors with insights into the manufacturing technologies behind these innovations, sparking inspiration and enabling efficient supplier connections.

The show’s internationalization has reached new heights, with the attendance of more than 430 buyer delegations of which 70+ were overseas delegations, further broadening the scope and depth of global exchange. While delegations from Asia continue to account for the majority of overseas visitors, this year’s CHINAPLAS also welcomed new delegations from Argentina, Colombia, Egypt, Poland, Spain and other countries and regions.

The next CHINAPLAS is scheduled to take place from 13-16 April at the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center in Guangdong. For more information, visit: www.chinaplasonline.com
