Plastic & Rubber Thailand 2023 is a trade fair hosted by Informa Markets Thailand at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre from May 10-13. It aims to promote sustainable development and carbon reduction solutions through collaborations. It is co-located with INTERMACH and SUBCON Thailand 2023.

Swiss specialist introduces flexible system for in-mould labelling and handle assembly

Beck Automation AG launched the Beck Bailer, an automatic system that can assemble metal handles for industrial plastic pails. It can handle bucket sizes from 2L to 40L with a diameter of 175mm to 380mm and can run different sizes and shapes of pails with different handle designs. The Beck Bailer has a cycle time of 3.5 seconds per pail and does not use hydraulics to form and assemble handles.

Research consortium secures funding for plastic recycling technology development

The University of Birmingham and Stopford received £300k from Innovate UK to develop a chemical process that uses compressed hot water to recycle waste plastics. The process depolymerizes plastics into commodity compounds that can be processed into virgin materials. It can recycle contaminated and degraded plastics with reduced downstream processing.
